Growing CPA firm seeks entrepreneurial-minded Tax Senior / Manager to assist in running a growing tax practice. Potential long-term partnership track. Client base is focused on small businesses (S-Corps, LLC’s, Partnerships, etc) and serving the business owners along with traditional tax prep for individuals.

-Primary responsibility is management and oversight of tax compliance for the firm’s clients at the new location (500+), including all federal, state and local jurisdictions.
-Review and prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, s-corporations and other business entities.
-In charge of managing client engagements including planning, staffing, reviewing, meeting with the clients and completing tax projects.
-Assist partners with: 1) Technical client issues; 2) Staff training; 3) tax software and technology; 4) tax planning initiatives.
-Assist with tax communication schedule (dates, drafting of communications). Engagement letters, 1099s, newsletters, organizers, tax planning, etc.
-Lead on IRS and other jurisdiction tax notices and representation.
-Act as primary technical reviewer of client tax returns and serve as the primary point of contact for complex clients
-Proactively communicate with clients and Partner team with respect to ongoing engagements and implement process to inform clients of tax changes affecting them or their industry
-Identify opportunities to cross-sell and introduce other tax / accounting services to build and strengthen existing relationships
-Take a leadership role to guide staff and other tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals. Implement formal tax training schedule for staff (Curriculum and timing)
-Review engagements for profitability.
-Recommendations for clients to save and defer taxes (client specific and in general)
-Work closely with the Partner team in all facets of business operations and development
-Must have excellent communication skills for interaction with clients and Partner team.
-4-8 years public accounting experience, or combination of public / private experience
-Experience working with a variety of business entities (Corporations, S-Corps, LLC’s, Partnerships) and dealing with partner / business owner issues.
-Capability of working with businesses of varying size and complexity
-Previous small or mid-size regional firm experience preferred
-Desire to assist in business development and passion to grow an accounting practice. And will actively want to participate in our firms’ employee revenue share arrangement for clients procured.
-Must have entrepreneurial mindset and ability to “own” the process and work in team environment
-Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field and active CPA license (or working towards CPA)
